GOODRICH CHILDREN'S CENTER

EARLY LEARNING  & SCHOOL AGE PROGRAMS

Goodrich Children’s Center offers high-quality preschool and childcare for children ages 3 years through 5th grade.  Our preschool programs are thoughtfully designed to inspire every child to explore, grow, and develop a lifelong love of learning.  We follow a HighScope-inspired curriculum and participate in the Great Start to Quality rating system.  We are very proud of our highly qualified teaching staff and the meaningful relationships they build with students and families.

Our school-age program provides a safe, engaging, and fun environment for students in kindergarten through 5th grade.  Children take part in a variety of small and large group games and activities that promote learning, friendship, and enrichment beyond the regular school day.  Oaktree students will be transported to and from Reid Elementary.

GSRP Registration

GSRP

The Great Start Readiness Program (GSRP) is Michigan’s state-funded free preschool program for 4-year-old children.  Placement is prioritized by risk factors, income, residency, and birthdate.

Key details about GSRP:

  • Cost: It is free for eligible families
  • Eligibility: Child must be born between September 2, 2021 and December 1, 2022.
  • Schedule: Monday-Thursday full day class (8:30a-3:30p)
  • Location: Reid Elementary, Goodrich
  • Additional Care: Before and after care are available on a limited basis. No Friday care is available.

Enrollment spots are limited.  Goodrich families who are interested in GSRP are encouraged to apply for BOTH GSRP and the Children’s Center to ensure they have a preschool spot for the 2026-2027 school year.

If your child turns four between September 2, 2026, and December 1, 2026, they are in a lower priority bracket but may be placed in GSRP if slots are available. Eligible families with students turning 4 before September 1, 2026, will be placed first based on a prioritized schedule.

FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE
NEEDED?

MiBridges

If you are in need of financial assistance for preschool, you may be eligible for the DHHS child care subsidy. Please note that this can be a tedious process; most families are denied the first time they apply, but it is recommended you re-apply if this happens.

Children's Center Preschool

At Goodrich Children’s Center, our preschool program offers families a safe, caring, and joyful environment where children are encouraged to explore, discover, and grow. In our 3- and 4-year-old classrooms, learning comes to life through hands-on experiences, imaginative play, and meaningful interactions that spark curiosity and build confidence.

We believe children thrive when they feel supported and inspired. That’s why we create enriching, creative spaces where teacher-guided learning is thoughtfully balanced with child-led exploration — nurturing independence, critical thinking, and a genuine love of learning that lasts well beyond the preschool years.

Key details about the Children’s Center:

  • Cost: This is a tuition-based program.  Discounted tuition is  offered to preschool families who attend 3+ days and need extended care.
  • Eligibility: Residency is NOT a factor in placement. All children who meet age criteria are welcome to enroll.  All enrolling students must be potty-trained to attend.
  • Schedule: Our Half Day classrooms have a fixed schedule; however, our Full Day classrooms allow for more flexible scheduling, allowing families to choose their days. Students are only required to attend at least 2 days per week.
  • Location: Reid Elementary, Goodrich
  • Additional Care: Before and after care are available with flexible scheduling. The Center follows the Goodrich Area School calendar but will remain open for a full day on school district half days of school.
  • Discount: Families will receive a 20% discount for additional children. The first child will be full price and each additional less expensive child will receive a discount

Enrollment spots are limited; please complete an interest form and we will contact you regarding placement.  Families enrolling in our 4’s program who wish to also be considered for GSRP should apply for BOTH programs.

The Children’s Center school-age before and after care program provides a safe, supportive, and engaging environment for students outside of regular school hours. Designed for elementary-aged children, the program offers structured activities such as arts and crafts, group games, and outdoor play, balanced with time for social interaction and relaxation. Caring and qualified staff create a welcoming atmosphere where students build friendships, develop independence, and strengthen important life skills like teamwork and responsibility. • Discount: Families with 2 or more children will receive a 20% discount. The first child will be full price, and each additional or less expensive child will receive a discount.
